Every year I like to do a little DIY for my gifties and this holiday was now exception.  Last year I did

paper flowers

, the year before that was

photo ribbons

, this year I have gone kraft paper bow crazy!  Keep reading for the tutorial.

Supplies:

  • kraft paper
  • double sided tape
  • scissors
  • pencil

1. Fold kraft paper in half

2. Then fold each half in half again, toward the fold, as in the photo below.

3. Cut a strip about 4" wide.

5. Starting at the non-fold edge, draw the shape of a bow.

6.  cut shape

7. fold edges in, opposite the crease, and tape at center.

8. cut a strip about 1" think and about 4" long.

9. Wrap around center of bow and tape

10. Cut and shape strips for bow ends, about 1.5" wide by about 5.5" long.  And assemble with double sided tape.  Then I used my calligraphy pen to write the name of the recipient.

Our Minted Holiday Cards

As we have the past few years, we turned to Minted to create our holiday cards and could not be happier with the results!  While in London, I brought my tripod and we found a darling street behind our hotel to to a little self-maternity/holiday card session.  I think we got a few precious shots, including the one we used on the card and the outtakes below.

The design we used is called "Limitless Joy" and the colors enhanced the whimsy of the Kensington street.  We used flat card option with the timeline backer to tell the CliffsNotes version of our busy buys year.  And, one BIG bonus, Minted is offering free printed envelope addressing, which was so easy to use and yielded awesome results.
