Outfit Idea // All (winter) White

One of the few New Year's resolutions that I've actually stuck to is working toward my capsule wardrobe.  My strategy hasn't been to narrow straight away, but to experiment with versatile pieces in order to come to a chic edited wardrobe.  All white looks, especially for winter are the new black.  Well, maybe that's not quite true, especially for us New Yorkers, but all white looks are on trend, and still totally classic.  For this look I paired a vintage fisherman sweater with my white jeans, normally saved for spring.  These pieces could be paired with white sneakers for an easy weekend look, but these snake booties take it to the next level.  I'm usually one for color, but I love how my lip and sunglasses are the stars of the look with this monochromatic outfit.  Keep scrolling to to shop the post.

Ikea Hack // Kid's Play Kitchen

Oliver turned 2 last week!  If you haven't been following along, we celebrated in Disney World!  More to come on that, but before we left we gave the birthday boy his gift, a play kitchen.  Every time we've gone to a friend's who has one, he runs right to it.  He also tells me literally everyday that he makes pizza in the kitchen at school, plus if you ever look at my Instagram stories, you will know he loves to help momma make dinner and bake cakes.  I knew I wanted to get him one for his birthday, and I knew it had to be a special one.  So I called in the DIY guns to hack the Ikea Duktig kid's play kitchen and styled it out with a few lovely details, including this felt letter menu.  Keep reading to find out exactly what I did and to see adorable photos of Ollie opening his present.

Before assembly, spray paint the the base and shelf pieces.  All pieces that are not already white, except for the counter top.

I sanded, pre-stained and stained the counter top to make it a few shades darker

The subway tile backsplash is actually foam board with sharpie drawn tiles!  I was planning something much more complicated, but I had these supplies and it looks just as good as what I was thinking.

Once you assemble, replace the plastic handles with the metal ones, using the extra bolts (not the ones that come with the knobs).

Drill three holes under the stove to add the knobs.

Style with charm!

Outfit Idea // Momma and Baby Valentine's Date

My little Oliver turns 2 years old this week!  His personality has been shining.  He is funny, flirty, caring and so loving of his momma.  He's getting so big so fast, all the more reason to take my tiny man on a lovely little Valentine's date.  On a chilly February afternoon, what's better than ice cream?  Once we were inside the warmth The Hudson Creamery, right off the train station in Peekskill, the ice cream tasted just as good as it would mid-August.

Momma is wearing a classic wool coat from Uniqlo, topped with a throw back to good old Carrie Bradshaw with the flower pin.  Mine is from H&M, but Gucci is selling similar for $380!  The adorable Elliott Lucca floral pumps are on sale for $30!  And, I have to mention Ollie's trendy pink shirt, perfect for Valentine's Day, it's Carter's and available at Kohls for $14.40.

Tomorrow we are heading to Disney World to celebrate Ollie's 2nd birthday!!  Follow along on instagram!
