Outfit Idea // Desmet for Date Night

If you've followed me for a while, you probably heard me talk about my ridiculously talented friend, Christina Desmet's fabulous, minimal and ethical clothing line, Desmet NYC.  The concept is to collect one piece at a time to build a curated, capsule wardrobe.  Many of the pieces in Desmet's line are made to be worn multiple ways to get more bang for your buck.  The fabrics are exquisite and the craftsmanship (it's made in the garment district) is perfection.  I finally got my hands on a few pieces and they are pure luxury!  I have been on the hunt for the perfect camisole as part of my capsule wardrobe.  Enter, the reversible 100% silk camisole with beautiful style lines.  I have paired it with my current favorite high-waisted jeans, the Levi's Wedgie cut for a perfect high-low date night look.  The ensemble is finished off with a vintage straw bag and my favorite Loeffler Randall mules.

Outfit Idea // Little Back Dress for Spring

It's hot, it's cold, it's hot again!  I can't keep up.  That's why these transition months are all about the layering.  A little black dress goes a long way, when worn as the base of an outfit.  You'll never believe what a steal this cocoon dress is Old Navy!  It is so versatile, forgiving and flattering, plus it packs well, so it's a perfect piece for weekend getaways from spring through summer.  I've paired the dress with my favorite blazer in the color of the moment, blush.  Because blush is a non-neutral neutral, it adds the perfect pop of color, without screaming too loud.  I wore the look with knee-high boots, but this look works just as well with booties.  And finished it off with a light neutral bag and mirrored sunnies.

Outfit Idea // My Uniform

Back in college when I was a waitress I would find myself so annoyed, I worked hard, then took that money straight to the mall, but I couldn't wear the clothes I bought, because I had to wear really ugly "golf shorts," a black collared golf shirt and non-slip shoes to work.  Today I work in the fashion industry where anything goes, and I'm finding myself streamlining and self editing like I never have before.  A t-shirt, sometimes graphic, sometimes solid, sometimes stripes, worn with a blazer, jeans and booties has been my uniform for sometime now.  With just a few t-shirt options, two to three blazers, and two pairs of jeans, the formula is the same, the combinations are endless.  This idea is perfect for me, a mom who gets ready in about 25 minutes every morning.  The t-shirt balances out the polish of the blazer and boots add a cool factor.  This combo seems to be the perfect go-to for me.

On another note, I found the perfect "mom" jeans!  I am OBSESSED with the high-waisted Levis Wedgie Style.  They come in several colors, are super affordable, under $100 (why are jeans so darn expensive these days!?), and have the perfect amount of stretch.  These babies will be on repeat all summer long.
