Shop the Room // Paris Apartment

A few weeks ago, A Cup of Jo introduced us to her girl crush, Morgane Sèzalory, founder of the clothing brand Sèzane.  I have to admit, I have now developed a crush of my own.  Morgane has impeccable style, as evident by her fabulous French clothing line, and that style extends right into her home.  The French apartment is layered with found objects, but doesn't look cluttered.  It's sprinkled with color, yet doesn't feel overwhelming.  And feels old world Parisian, while still completely modern.  I am OBSESSED!

I love the whole flat, but the living room is my favorite.  You can achieve this perfectly balanced look by starting with neutral walls, Morgane stuck to white, with a black accent wall.  Keep the curtains simple, and the furniture strong but clean.  There are a lot of heavy wood pieces in the apartment that ground the space.  Next a rug that adds subtle color without overwhelming the space.  Finally layer in the fun!  The details in this space are stacked and layered in organized chaos.  The pillows are colorful, the books are piled high and the art is leaning against the wall.  This feels counter intuitive to a lot of trends happening in interiors, but it really works.  At the end of the day, the space feels inviting and lived in with layered textures and colors.  It all works in perfect harmony.  Below I have pulled similar pieces to achieve this look.
