In the interest of spring cleaning and my love for a good project, I have decided to join the One Room Challenge! If you are not familiar, The One Room Challenge is a blogger challenge, created by Linda of Calling it Home, and sponsored by House Beautiful. It's currently in it's 11th cycle, to transform one room in just 6 short weeks. There are 20 featured bloggers and anyone with a blog can participate. Each Thursday we check in on our progress on our blogs and on social media. I missed the boat in October, so I thought I'd torture myself and join in the fun this time around.
This photo is my main source of inspo.
I have decided to tackle our garage. I am embarrassed to even show the before photos. I've spent so little time out there this winter, and pretty much opened the door to throw the recycling out and not much more. Currently there is a hodge podge of bracketed shelving with worn plywood and large industrial hooks hung unevenly on the walls.
My plan is to transform this space into a highly-functional, aesthetically pleasing storage area that doubles as a studio of my larger scale projects.
Here is my list of projects:
- paint the floor in light grey or white
- remove current shelving
- patch and paint walls and brick
- paint and hang cabinets
- spruce up the work bench
- install shelving system
- find ideal organizing system
- find lighting solution
