Weekend Rewind

Whoa!  I really packed a lot into these past five days!  I am falling asleep as I type I'm so exhausted from all the excitement!

We spent The Fourth at Coney Island cheering on the competitors (and former neighbor) in the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island.  We were witness to winner, Joey Chestnut breaking his old World Record and downing 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes!!!  After a few rides, a few beers on the boardwalk and a disco nap we headed to a friend's for a roof-top get-together.  There was a perfect sunset and while we couldn't see the big firework display, we saw at least a dozen small ones off in the distance.   It was a great way to end a great day.

Friday, I was beyond excited to check out the Rain Room at the Moma, only to arrive to a FIVE HOUR wait!!  Needless to say, we didn't stick around, but we did head down to the High Line for a nice (90 degree) stroll and finished the afternoon at the Standard Biergarten, one of my favorite places in the City.  On the way to the subway we played around with the virtual Kate Spade Saturday shopping windows.  Have you guys seen this?  Such an innovative concept.  Read all about it here.  After another disco nap we caught a showing of The Bling Ring in Brooklyn.

With two weekend days left I was lucky enough to get a last-minute invite out to the Hamptons.  I've never been and didn't really have big plans (aside from getting through my stack of business cards from Alt.), so I hopped on a train and headed out.  I got a quick 24 hour tour of the area including several bars, several houses, several pools and adorable down-town.  And that was just Saturday.  Thankfully we had a few minutes to relax on Sunday when we enjoyed a bike ride and some pool time before heading back.

Phew!  That's it, that's everything that happened this weekend, see a few more pics here.  How did you spend your fourth weekend?
