Weekend Rewind (Seattle)

This past weekend was absolutely lovely.  Kyle and I took a trip to Seattle to see the sights and celebrate a friend's birthday.  Kyle has family in Washington, so we took a night to drive an hour and a half north from Seattle to the adorable town of Anacortes.  There are several state parks and plenty of hiking to be done and we only had the chance to scratch the surface.  We crossed one of Washington State's famous landmarks, Deception Pass, two narrow bridges over steep cliffs and turbulent waters, that connect Whidbey Island, Pass Island and Fidalgo Island.  As you can tell from the photo, the fog was quite heavy, so unfortunately we didn't get to see as much of the majestic Washington countryside as we would have liked.

After a night up north, we headed back to Seattle.  We visited the Experience Music Project and Pike Place Market, before celebrating the birthday with a pool party on the roof of the Silver Cloud hotel, overlooking Safeco Field and the Seattle skyline.  It was a fantastic trip, I just wish it had been a little longer.  I would have loved to spend a few more days in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
