African Adventure (Part II)

After our time in Cape Town, we flew northwest to Durbin, we made a detour to dip our toes in the Indian Ocean, then drove along the coast to our first safari sight.  We woke up with the sun at 4:00 AM for our first drive in

Hluhluwe

, where we were thrilled to see rhino, a hyena, buffalo, baboons, giraffe, hippos and an elephant.  Here we stayed at

Emdoneni Lodge

, a beautiful lodge with a cat rehabilitation center on site.  I even got the opportunity to pet a cheetah!

The tour continued north through Swaziland and the most gorgeous countryside I have ever seen with mountains behind rolling, green valleys, lush lakes and fluffy white clouds.  We were on our way to the Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa, where our adventure continued, but more on that tomorrow.
