CSA Week 1

This summer we joined a CSA, community share agriculture.  For those of you who don't know, we pay a local farm a fee and volunteer some time each month, then we get a big bag of fresh, healthy, organic veggies every week.  Each is a little different, but that's how the one at Hemlock Hill Farm works.

The first two weeks have been majority greens, lettuce, arugula, swiss chard, mustard greens, kale, broccoli rabe, and radishes.

I don't usually do food posts, but I thought it would be fun to document what we do with the bags of goodies we get each week.

1.  Loose lettuce and mustard green salad with grape tomatoes, onions, chick peas and goat cheese.  Pesto pizza topped with slivered potatoes, caramelized onions, cherry tomatoes and arugula.  Spicy roasted Broccoli Rabe.

2.  Olive toast with lettuce and arugula, topped with a fried farm-fresh egg and shaved parmesan

3.  Spicy roasted cauliflower and chickpea tacos with feta and mustard greens.  Inspired by this recipe.

4.  Loose lettuce and mustard green salad similar to photo one.   Followed by pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, broccoli rabe, feta and vegan sausage.

Next up pickled radishes!
