Summer Friday (Camping)

Happy summer Friday, people.  Today I am posting about one of my favorite summer pastimes, camping.  When I was a little girl, my family had a camper and we would go a few times a summer.  And now we have a tent and try to make it out into the woods at least one weekend.  It feels so good to go out into the woods, disconnect with the TV and the internet and come home with everything you brought smelling like campfire.  I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend and maybe it will look a little like one of the beautiful photos below.

Weekend Rewind

Here is the late edition of this weekend's happenings.  I took Friday off work for the perfect three-day weekend.

I spent Friday morning by myself.  I went to The Met to see the fashion exhibit, Punk: Couture to Chaos.  The exhibit was pretty great, but I was more enamored by how empty the museum was.  I got there just after it opened, and it was almost erie how quiet it was.  The halls were empty, the was almost no one on the roof and I got to walk the Punk exhibit leisurely; it was truly a lovely New York experience.

Friday afternoon we drove about an hour upstate to Clarence Fahnestock State Park to camp the rest of the weekend.  There was a lake, great hiking, marshmallow roasting, good friends and even a dog with a backpack!  Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
