I need two Christmas Miracles

That's asking a lot I know, but please Santa,
1. There's a snow storm both here and in Michigan and all I want to do is make it home to Detroit tomorrow. My fingers are crossed.

2. I've had a terrible month in the jewelry department. The only things lost in the move were my favorite tacky gold necklaces. One of my favorite pieces of jewelry I owned was my old English L necklace that I blogged about a while back is gone. I have found a replacement; I'm hoping Santa still has time to order it for me.

Also, last night I went out and lost one of my favorite earrings. If you see the mate to this little guy please return him to his home.

I do work on 34th street...

Tom's Shoe Company founder Blake Mycoskie is a stand up guy with a wonderful idea, not to mention a total babe. Two and a half years ago, Mycoskie started a shoe company where every pair sold would be matched with a pair given to a child in need. What started as a "project" to give 250 kids in Argentina their first pair of new shoes has unexpectedly become one of the fastest growing shoe companies on the planet-and in the process, TOMS Shoes has given over 85,000 shoes to children in need around the world.

Geographical Cure

Listen to "Geographical Cure," by one of my favorite local artists, Lucy Woodward while reading this blog entry.
It's hot in the concrete jungle right now. This weekend I'm escaping to an island, Coney Island to catch the Siren Music festival, but what I dream about doing is moving to a world where I can chillax and hang loose. I wanted to surf for as long as I can remember. Maybe it's because I grew up around lakes, but never the ocean. In 2002 when "Blue Crush" came out, my friends and I got really into wanting to learn to surf. Their obsession wore off while mine stuck. Last summer I tried surfing twice, once in LA and once on Long Island. It went well, but I want more. I want to live like the photos below from the Roxy website. I want to wear my bathing suit top instead of a bra. I want to wake up to the sound of the ocean and have the thrill of my day be catching the perfect wave. How do I get that?

Maybe I live in the wrong place.
Have a great weekend!
