I'm a Vespa Girl

Let me tell you a little bit about this bike of mine.  Ever since studying abroad in Italy I knew it was my mission to own a one of these cute little scooters.  I moved to New York and lived the young, fabulous and broke life.  Buying a Vespa wasn't even a blip on my radar with my starting salary in the fashion industry.  I thought to myself that when I have the means to buy a Vespa, I have made it!  Flash forward five years, I took a motorcycle safety class on Easter in the pouring rain to get my license, and I made my dreams come true!  I found her on Craigslist and next thing I know I was the proud owner of this black beauty with all her glory and her cute little trunk!  This bike has been hands down the best thing I've ever purchased.  Riding it around the city when I lived there made errands seem painless and my commute not only tolerable but, enjoyable!  I love to share this baby with anyone that will hop on and take a ride.

These days my Vespa mostly takes me to the train station  and back home, but makes for an extremely affordable second vehicle for our family.  I don't know how much long I will have this bike in my life, but for the moment, I get to feel a little like a dude who just bought his midlife crisis convertible as I cruse threw downtown Peekskill.

Wedding Wednesday (Our Engagement Photos!!)

Our amazingly talented friend, Casey Masterson, took these photos a few months ago.  The shoot didn't quite go exactly how we planned, as it was sun-shining all day until about an hour before the shoot, when there was a torrential downpour.  My hair and make-up wasn't quite what I had hope, but that was definitely the least of our worries, with the Vespa and the dog as our props, our plans weren't too flexible with rain.  The weather set us back close to an hour and gave us limited sunlight to work with and really dirtied Maggie's paws, not the best news while I'm wearing a white dress.  Despite all that,  the photos turned out amazingly!  Thank you Casey!  They are everything we hoped for!
