Wedding Weekend Rewind

It's been a long while since I've posted a weekend rewind, but we had a weekend full of travel, weddings, family and fun, and not a lot of time (read: none) in front of the computer.  The post I planned just did not come to fruition, but it was a beautiful wedding and a weekend full of lots of pretty ripe for sharing.  Here are just a few snippets.  You'll see more details on a few of these coming soon.

Wedding Wednesday (Queen Anne's Lace)

I am so excited that wild flowers are taking over in the wedding world.  And one flower in particular that I remember learning about as a little girl, Queen Anne's Lace, is making a huge comeback!!  I think that sometimes people see this feminine beauty as weed.  But I love the sweet story behind the Daucus Carota.  Queen Anne was tatting (the lost art of making lace by hand), which became the white lacy flower of the wild carrot plant, and she pricked her finger.  The one single red dot you see on some, but not all of the flowers, is the drop of blood.  This wispy white bloom is finding it's way of of it's rustic pigeon hole and becoming modern again.

Wedding Wednesday (Hanging Florals)

Flower arrangements, they don't just go on the table anymore.  More and more florists, event stylists and brides are encouraging their guests to look up to see the florals from a new perspective.  I love love this trend in all it's variations, from carnations covering the ceiling to floral chandeliers, and everything in between.  I think the falling flowers, like in the upper right is my very favorite though.
