A couple months back I shared my "uniform," the base for my capsule wardrobe, which consists of jeans, a tee and a blazer. Now that it's summer I've switched over to the warm weather version of this "uniform." As an alternative to easy summer dresses, which, of course, I love, I like to wear shorts with a sleeveless tee, a blazer and to dress it up a little slightly dressed up summer sandals. I love that this look is a cool mix of casual and business and can easily go from day to evening. As is the idea of the capsule wardrobe, my summer wardrobe is layered and has a cool factor beyond many of my little dresses, but is so easy to throw on with out too much thought.
This summer jumpsuits are the new dresses and I'm not sad about it. They can be casual or dressed up. Personally I like to wear mine as easy and casual weekend wear with classic sneakers and cute accessories. And while were talking about summer trends, this bag is everything! It's the "it" bag, it makes any outfit and at a $50 price tag, you basically can't afford not to have one! Hope you have a lovely weekend and scroll to the bottom for the weekends best sales!
SHOP THE POST
Next week it's officially summer, this week I sat down and came up with a little list to tick off in the next two and a half months.
TAKE A BIKE RIDE WITH MY BABE
Wish this were something that was easier to do on the regular. Unfortunately, we live on a dead end street off the main road, that's on a pretty steep hill. Leaving from our house and starting the ride is a challenge, and the other little issue is that we don't have a baby seat or even bikes that are in riding condition.
VISIT STORM KING SCULPTURE GARDEN
Storm King is a 500 acre sculpture park and widely celebrated as one of the world's best! And it's right in our back yard, just 30 minutes away. Looks like a fun place for an art-loving mom to take her babe to burn off some energy!
ATTEND AN OUTDOOR CONCERT
One of my favorite summer activities as teenager was going to outdoor summer concerts. Always on the lawn. There's something so magical about laying your blanket down and settling in for some good music.
GETAWAY TO A CLASSIC NEW ENGLAND DESTINATION
I've been to Cape Cod once, when I first moved to New York, but never since. I am feeling like I haven't taken advantage of living on the East Coast. I've never been to Martha's Vineyard. I've never been to Nantucket. I've never been Block Island. I think it's time to explore!
